Hakea amplexicaulis (Prickly Hakea) is a shrub which is native to south west Western Australia.

Prickly Hakea is erect in habit, growing to a height of 1 to 3 metres (3 to 10 ft). It has leaves with prickly edges which envelope the stems. White flowers are produced between August and November in its native range.

The species was first formally described by Robert Brown in Transactions of the Linnean Society of London in 1810.
