HNLMS Jan van Brakel (F825) was a Kortenaer-class frigate of the Royal Netherlands Navy. It was named after Jan van Brakel, a Dutch naval commander from the seventeenth century.

It was launched on 16 May 1981, commissioned by the Dutch Navy on 14 April 1983, and was transferred to the Hellenic Navy on 29 November 2002 as Kanaris (F464) (Greek: Κανάρης).
