HD 85390 is a main sequence star of spectral class K1 located approximately 106 light years away in the constellation Vela, appearing as 8.55 magnitude star. This star is smaller, cooler, dimmer, and less massive than our Sun. Also its metal content is seven-sixths as much as the Sun. In 2009, a planet with a minimum mass of about 1/7 of Jupiter's was found in orbit around the star.
