HD 76700 is a yellow dwarf star (spectral type G6V) 195 light years from Earth in the constellation of Volans. It has a mass very similar to (1.1 times) that of our Sun, but is cooler and brighter (with a surface temperature of 5694 K and luminosity of 1.69 Suns) and thus much older—around 6.9 billion years old. It is orbited by a recently discovered planet.
