HD 176871 is a 6th magnitude star in the constellation Lyra, approximately 700 light years away from Earth. It is a bluish white star of the spectral type B5V, meaning it possesses a surface temperature of 11,000 to 25,000 kelvins and is a dwarf star, like our Sun. Its surface is at least twice as hot as the Sun, and it is several thousand times as luminous.
