It has an apparent magnitude of +6.06, allowing it to be viewed with the naked eye under suitable viewing conditions. The stellar classification is B9V, which indicates that it is a main sequence blue-white star. The effective temperature of its chromosphere is 11,000 K,.

It has an estimated lifespan of 490 million years and is three times the mass of the Sun. Its end state will probably be a carbon-oxygen white dwarf.
