HD 153950 is an F-type main sequence star that is hotter and larger than our Sun. It is located in the southern constellation Scorpius. It is a 7th magnitude star at a distance of about 188 light years from Earth.

Planetary system

In October 2008, an exoplanet of the star was discovered. This object was detected using the radial velocity method by search programs conducted using the HARPS spectrograph. It has a mass roughly 2.73 times of Jupiter and potentially orbits in the habitable zone of its parent star.
