His Highness The Rajah's College is an autonomous educational institution in the town of Pudukkottai in Tamil Nadu, India. Founded by Ramachandra Tondaiman, the Raja of Pudukkottai state in 1857, it is the foremost arts and science college in Pudukkottai.

History

H. H. The Rajah's College, also popularly known as the Maharajah's College, was founded by Ramachandra Tondaiman, the then Maharaja of Pudukkottai in 1857. The school produced its first batch of matriculation students in 1880 and started its first intermediate courses in 1891. The school was upgraded to an arts and science college in 1946 with the commencement of undergraduate courses. Commerce was taught from 1949 onwards and post graduate disciplines were introduced from 1978. In 1982, the Maharajah's College was brought under the jurisdiction of the Bharathidasan University.
