Hương Trà is a rural district of Thua Thien-Huế Province in the North Central Coast region of Vietnam. As of 2003 the district had a population of 114,985. The district covers an area of 521 km². The district capital lies at Tứ Hạ.

The district is located on the northern outskirts of Huế, the major town in the district and the second largest town in central Vietnam after Da Nang.

The district consists of the communes of Hải Dương, Hương Phong, Hương Vinh, Hương Toàn, Hương Chữ, Hương Xuân, Hương Văn, Hương Vân, Hương An, Hương Thọ, Hương Hồ, Hương Bình, Hồng Tiến, Bình Thành, Bình Điền and district capital town Tứ Hạ. Tứ Hạ is located on National Road 1A, the nation's main north-south artery, 16 km north of Huế.

The district lies between the Perfume River, which runs through the city centre, and the Bồ River to the north. The area has both mountainous terrain and plains.

Located in Nham Bieu hamlet, Huong Ho commune of the district is Huyen Khong Son Thuong Monastery where visitors can talk to experienced monks about the art of calligraphy, painting, photography and poetry.
