Gustav Wendrinsky

Gustav Wendrinsky (24 January 1923 in Bratislava, Slovakia – 11 to 13 February 1945 in Csobanka, Hungary) was a Slovak SS-Oberscharfuhrer. He joined the Waffen SS as early as 1940.

He destroyed 41 soviet tanks, which was the maximum number of tank demolitions with one antitank gun during World War II. Two of them he destroyed in close combat with Panzerfaust.

Wendrinsky was KIA 20 km away from Budapest, during the attempt of German and Hungarian soldiers to escape from Red Army encirclement.
