Gunnm: Mars Chronicle (銃夢火星戦記, Ganmu Kasei Senki, lit. Gunnm: The Martian War Chronicles) is a Japanese manga series written by Yukito Kishiro as a continuation of his Battle Angel Alita series. A sequel to Battle Angel Alita: Last Order, the series is the "final chapter" in the Battle Angel Alita franchise.

Plot
The plot starts after the incident where Alita and Erica got saved at the minefield by Gerda. It then shifts to the "present time" where Alita goes back to Mars a few years after the ZOTT to honor the inhabitants of an orphanage she lived at for a brief time. There she meets Erica and is immediately drawn into a Martian power struggle. The plot again shifts back to Alita and Erica's childhoods. The two are separated and we follow Erica's adventures with a villain by the name of Baron Muster who seeks the secret treasure of Mars.
Release
Yukito Kishiro announced the series on 1 January 2014, with the premiere set for the second half of 2014. His Battle Angel Alita: Last Order manga ended later that month. The manga was launched in Kodansha's Evening magazine on 28 October 2014. Gunnm: Mars Chronicle is set to be the "final chapter" in the Battle Angel Alita series.
