The village is home to the Gunjial tribe which is further divided into sub-clans or Khails. Gunjial is an ancient Malik tribe linked to agriculture. Farming of animals is another big source of income for the locals.

The city of Quaidabad near Gunjial was built on land bought from Gunjials in 1960`s by the government of Ayub Khan, which has become a hub for business and trade for surrounding areas and became Tehsil in 2013.
