Gudjal

The Gudjal are a tribe of Indigenous Australians who traditionally lived between Charters Towers, Queensland and Lyndhurst, Queensland.

Their traditional lands are now administered by the Gudjal Traditional Land Owners Corporation. They were one of three tribes that occupied the upper Burdigan River. The others being the Warunga and Gugu-Badhun with which it formed a lingusitic and cultural group. The Gudjal created numerous rock art collections in their area.

They traditionally spoke the Warrongo language of the Maric subgroup of the Pama-Nyungan language family. A dictionary has been published and a number of Books on Gudjal, in both Gudjal and English languages have been published.
