Guardian Media Entertainment, LLC is media joint venture of the SLG Entertainment, NHL Enterprises and NBCUniversal.

History

In October 2010, Guardian Media Entertainment, was formed by SLG Entertainment and NHL Enterprises, created hockey-themed superheroes called "Guardians" for each of the 30 teams in the National Hockey League. The venture includes a graphic novel.

The Guardians were first introduced at the 2011 NHL All-Star Game. Guardian Media reached an venture agreement with NBCUniversal in June for further media projects from movies to television series and promotion for an equity in the company. In September, Guardian Media, SLG Entertainment, Anthony Chargin, and Jake Shapiro were sued by Adam Asherson who claimed Chargin, Shapiro and Asherson original created this project under the name "Defenders" for the National Football League in 2003 to include Stan Lee but fell through.
