Erró, Ari Trausti Guðmundsson

Guðmundur Einarsson (August 5, 1895 – May 23, 1963) was an Icelandic artist. He was an draftsman, graphics artist, painter, sculptor, photographer, movie maker, author and mountaineer. He has held an exhibition in Oslo Kunstforening in Norway, Galerie Paulus in Germany and Tate Gallery. He was a romantic artist.

Guðmundur studied art in Iceland 1911-13 and 1916, in Copenhagen 1919-20 and in Munich, Germany in 1920-25. His fields of study and performance include graphics, oil painting, sculptures and ceramics. He was a pioneer of etchings and ceramics in Iceland. He had four sons and one daughter with his wife Lydia Pálsdóttir, as well as one son with Soffía Kristjánsdóttir. Two of his sons are known Icelanders, the artist Erró and the geologist Ari Trausti Guðmundsson.
