Griffith Anthony (1846–1897) was a musician. He was born and lived in South Wales. From quite a young age he worked in Cwmbwrla's Ironworks, but developed an interest in music and studied the Tonic Sol-fa system of notation. Classes in the elements of music which he organised were held in various chapels. He wrote a number of anthems, such as ‘ Dyddiau dyn sydd fel glaswelltyn ’, hymn-tunes, and tunes for children. He d. 13 June 1897.
