    Projects

The American Latino Initiative is a social movement started in 2008 as a foundation for the creation of Hispanics Are Dead, a movement to eliminate "Hispanic" as a cultural barrier and outdated description of American Latinos in the US. Hispanics Are Dead's goals lie in "uncovering insights, lifestyles, behaviors, and attitudes independently of length in residency, country of origin and language preferences. The movement provokes change by unveiling American Latinos' real identity and mindsets. The initiative's vision is simple: to embrace collaboration as the key to change. Since the movement's creation in 2008, Greencard Creative has sought the support of a diverse array of clients, from those in the food industry to those involved in education. They feel that it is pivotal to develop strategic alliances with leading companies in markets that touch on all aspects of American Latino life. The collective efforts of Greencard Creative have led to the development of effective insights that resonate with a populous constantly in cultural transition. Only through careful planning and teamwork will lead to amending the outdated perceptions surrounding the American Latino culture.

Greencard Creative also created the brand Origomu in January of 2010, a movement to "inspire people through art to recycle.". Meaning "folding rubber" in Japanese, Origomu is a movement to reevaluate waste and keep plastic off ocean shores. Rooted in the power of design, people are encouraged to transform six-pack rings into unique pieces of wearable art. Using the design community as a launching pad, Origomu has become a global movement. Workshops, catalogues, and an online contest inspired thousands to participate. Thousands of blogs, social networks, and news coverage spread the idea around the world. In New York City, Origomu became part of the Department of Education's Visual Arts Program as well as the Eco-Fashion Going Green Exhibit at the museum at FIT. In Montreal, Cirque Du Soleil featured Origomu in their ecological VIP tent. To involve people beyond design, ecological foundations and community organizations are implementing Origomu as a business model for low-income women. Today, there are about 500 Origomu designs from over 25 countries and more than 700,000 six-pack rings have been reused. After more than 20 million media impressions, Origomu will continue to involve people, showcasing beautiful and inspiring forms that encourage both creative thought and a creative sense of stewardship towards the world.
