Greatest Hits Vol. III is the first studio album by Umphrey's McGee, recorded and released in 1998 just eight months after the band's formation. This is the only album to feature the original four-man lineup of the band. The album was recorded in just one day in preparation for an upcoming performance. Bandleader Brendan Bayliss says the album was rushed because it was much easier to book concerts with an official album. The album has long been out of print but was released in December 2009 as part of the CustUm Flash Drive that included the complete Umphrey's McGee discography.
