Graham Smith is an English former professional footballer and current Technical Director of Sacramento Republic FC and Ventura County Fusion.

Playing career

Smith, who played as a goalkeeper, began his professional career in 1968 with Notts County. He also played in the Football League for Colchester United, West Bromwich Albion, and Cambridge United, making a total of 200 league appearances for all four clubs.

Personal life

Graham's son, Adam Smith, was also a professional footballer, beginning his career as a schoolboy at Premiership Club Everton F.C. Smith later went on to spend a year with Walsall F.C. after completing a college degree in business and sports coaching at Manchester Metropoliton University. He then went on to play with teams in Asia, Scotland and the USA as a full-time professional and semi-professional player. Adam Smith is now a full-time coach in Major League soccer at the Portland Timbers, He was hired as goalkeeper coach for American D-2 Pro League side Portland Timbers in 2010 for their final season in the second division. Adam continued on as goalkeeper coach for the Portland Timbers during their first year in Major League Soccer and was named the Academy and Youth Goalkeeping Director for the Portland Timbers Academy following the 2011 season.
