Gordon D Love is a optics researcher and Professor of physics at Durham University, U.K. He is noted for work in Adaptive Optics, Liquid Crystals, and switchable lenses. He is also known for being one of the pioneers of applying adaptive optics in industry and medicine (as opposed to astronomy and military optics).
He is a Council Member of the Institute of Physics, and past board member of the European Optical Society.
