History

In the 1930s Richmond and Clarence Park Cricket Clubs were strong members of the South Australian Cricket Association's Adelaide Turf Cricket Association League until World War II where many players were killed in action. After World War 2 a meeting was held in Clarence Park and Clarence Park Turf Cricket Club was formed replacing the previous Clarence Park team. Clarence Park Played their home games at Goodwood Oval thanks to a permit from the council. Richmond CC began struggling in the 1970s and eventually even got kicked out of Richmond Oval by West Adelaide Football Club. In 1993 Clarence Park also folded. Beginning in the 1993/94 Season the teams played together as Richmond Clarence Park Cricket club until 2006 where the club decided the change their name because of the area the club was in and where their home ground was to the Goodwood Cricket Club, keeping the ‘Roos’ nickname from the Richmond Clarence Park days.
