Goodenia lanata is a prostrate herb that is endemic to south-eastern Australia. It is known as trailing goodenia in Victoria and native primrose in Tasmania. Plants grow up to 10 cm high and have obovate leaves that are about 6 cm long and 2 cm wide. Five-petalled yellow flowers appear between November and February in the species native range. The species was first formally described in 1810 by botanist Robert Brown in Prodromus Florae Novae Hollandiae.
