Gonzalo Casco (sixteenth century) was a Spanish military leader and conquistador of Paraguay.

Biography

Casco was born in Aviles. After being established in Peru, he arrived in Asunción, where he was appointed Alcalde and Regidor on two occasions. Casco participated in expeditions against the tribes of Mayáes and Tomacocis.

His wife was María de Mendoza Irala, the daughter of Gonzalo de Mendoza (Governor) and Isabel de Irala (daughter of Domingo Martínez de Irala).
