Gonionota captans is a moth in the Depressariidae family. It was described by Edward Meyrick in 1931. It is found in Brazil.

The wingspan is about 22 mm. The forewings are brown with a reddish-crimson oblique-triangular blotch on the base of the dorsum, reaching half across the wing, its apex including a blackish dot and just reaching the tip of a similar rather oblique bar from the costa at one-third and a white wedge-shaped mark along the costa at two-thirds, as well as a suffused crimson dot on the end of the cell. The hindwings are light grey.
