Golden Eagle Award for Best Actor is also known as Audience's Choice for Actor (Chinese name:中国电视金鹰奖最佳男主角,1983–1999;最佳表演艺术男演员奖, 2003-2014;中国电视金鹰奖观众喜爱的男演员,2016-now). The top honour is voted in by the China Television Artists Association and the national audience. This category was absent during 2000-2002.
