The Goethe-Institut, Karachi is the Karachi branch of the worldwide Goethe-Institut association. The Goethe-Institut fosters cultural cooperation and promotes German language learning by offering the public opportunities to interact with themes and questions relevant to German culture and society.
The institute provides grants for translation in subject areas like democracy, current regional and global issues, the cultural dimension of European integration, recent German history or outstanding works of contemporary German literature.
The Goethe-Institut is the only school that provides intensive German courses in Karachi. The German examinations of the Goethe-Institut are highly respected, internationally recognised qualifications are taken by the Pakistani students who are planning to attend Universities and colleges in Germany.
There are Goethe-Instituts also located in Lahore and Islamabad.
