Gnomeo & Juliet: Sherlock Gnomes is an upcoming British-American 3D computer-animated fantasy romantic comedy mystery film that is being directed by John Stevenson. The film is the sequel to 2011's Gnomeo & Juliet, and stars the voices of James McAvoy, Emily Blunt and Johnny Depp. The film is being produced by Rocket Pictures, Paramount Animation and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, with the animation service provided by Paris-based Mikros Image. It will be the first film from Paramount Animation to be entirely animated, as well as the first fully animated film from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in 10 years since Igor. The film is scheduled to be released on January 12, 2018, by Paramount Pictures.

In March 2012, it was reported that the film is in development at Rocket Pictures. Andy Riley and Kevin Cecil, two of the nine writers on the first film, are writing the script for the film. Steve Hamilton Shaw and David Furnish are producing the film, and Elton John, an exec producer, is again composing new songs for the film. The film will feature Sherlock Gnomes, "the greatest ornamental detective" hired by the characters from the first film, who will try to solve the mystery of disappearing gnomes. In September 2012, it was reported that John Stevenson, the director of Kung Fu Panda, has been set to direct the film. In November 2015, it was announced that Johnny Depp would voice Sherlock Gnomes and that the film is scheduled for release on January 12, 2018. Paramount Animation and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer are producing the film, with McAvoy and Blunt reprising their roles.
