Global Digital News (GDN) is a fake news venture group.

GDN "released" a "news story" supposedly by a local news station involving a string of homicides that took place on several islands throughout the South Pacific. In the videos, GDN speculated that the killings were related, and the story was picked up by several media news outlets. The series of reports was referred to as "perfect getaways gone wrong,” referencing the fact that murder victims were vacationing couples. Four reports total have been completed on the series.

As of August 4, 2009, the network's YouTube channel was linked to from an ad on YouTube's homepage for "A Perfect Getaway", an upcoming movie, causing many people to suspect that the entire network is only a marketing scheme for the movie.

Although these suspicions are confirmed by performing a whois search on the "official site", they are the truth. The registered owner of globaldigitalnews.org is Universal City Studios, better known as Universal Studios, a wholly owned subsidiary of NBC Universal, a distributor and production company on the upcoming film under the subsidiary Rogue Pictures.
