Girekol is a 2,145-metre-high (7,037 ft) volcano in Turkey. It is an alkaline shield volcano and the youngest activity goes back to 0.36 +/- 0.06 Ma. The volcano's eruption products are plagiophyric trachybasaltic lavas and is among the youngest eruption activities on the northern coast of Lake Van and overlie in part older volcanic products. The volcano is part of a volcanic province together with neighbouring Meydandag and Etrüsk volcanoes that is associated with a regional geological structure named "Lake Van dome".
