Gio Goi was formed by acid head brothers Anthony and Chris Donnelly in the summer of love 1988.

The Donnelly brothers were responsible for the largest illegal outdoor / indoor warehouse parties the country has ever seen.

The brother’s links to music came from their sister Tracey Donnelly who worked as secretary to Tony Wilson Factory Records who became mentor to Anthony and Christopher along with Rob Gretton and Alan Erasmus.

After forming the brand Gio Goi the brothers went on to collaborate with Rihanna , Kasabian , Pete Doherty and Kate Moss and many more. Vivienne Westwood called the brothers ‘ambassadors for a generation’

The brothers sold the brand to Pentland Group for an undisclosed sum in 2008

The Donnelly brothers released there autobiography Still Breathing in 2013 to detail the unbelievable tales whilst they were at the helm of this global phenomenon Gio Goi.

Soon after the release of the book Irvine Welsh re Trainspotting and Dean Cavanagh signed up to write the script for the movie rights to the book.

Before the movie could happen the Donnelly's had to spend a year in legal wrangling trying to buy the Gio Goi brand back from JD Sports who acquired the brand from the Pentland Group.

JD Sports were successfully trading Gio Goi but reluctantly sold the brand back to the brothers thanks to the goodwill of Chairman and CEO Peter Cowgill who befriended the brothers.

Gio Goi has now got several new retail partners and has licensed the brand in the UK to Wilson Imports from Glasgow and is currently negotiating deals all over the world in different territories and intellectual property classes.

A second book continuing the story of Gio Goi is to follow this year in the summer of 2017 which is the sequel to the book Still Breathing by author Simon Spence previously wrote STONED AND 2 STONED by the Rolling Stones Andrew Loog Oldham the movie based on the book will follow after the book guaranteeing Gio Goi is a huge success.
