Gigas founding team, led by CEO Diego Cabezudo and COO José Antonio Arribas, is made up of former directors of some of the largest technology and telecommunications companies in Europe. Gigas was founded to fill a gap in the hosting market to provide an innovative and powerful cloud solution with superior local technical support.

Products

Cloud Datacenter The Cloud Datacenter replicates all elements of a phsyical datacenter in a virtual environment. Gigas’ control panel lets clients access and monitor in real time, both virtual servers as well as all elements in the network (VLAN, VPN, load balancers), storage (NFS, different storage units and tiers, cache systems) and security elements (firewall, backups). The platform allows users to increase or reduce resources, either manually or automatically, in response to specific company needs or peaks in traffic or usage.

Cloud VPS The Gigas Cloud VPS is a product for those looking for a simple and flexible cloud machine or virtual private server.

Cloud Server for Oracle The ORACLE Cloud Server is the solution Gigas offers companies that wish or need to install their Oracle environment in a cloud infrastructure. This product is particularly aimed at accelerating the installation of platforms, databases, and middleware, providing a new level of redundancy and availability that simply cannot be achieved by physical servers. Gigas' ORACLE Cloud Server includes Oracle licenses based on the cores that the database requires. Each core has its own Oracle license. No big upfront investment or commitment to a fixed-term contract involved.

Contingency Solution (D&R) Gigas Cloud Contingency Service enables companies of any size to implement and integrate automatic protection on a monthly "pay per use" basis. It is an alternative that, in addition to being economic and efficient, is scalable to any requirement, even the most complex.

Data Centers

Gigas’ data centers are located in Madrid and Miami. Gigas’ Madrid data center is housed in the Interxion collocation facility, which offers capacity for up to 80,000 servers, access to more than 50 carriers and ISPs, dual-entry fiber and SLA-based cross connects in a highly secure, climate-controlled environment. It holds Tier III classification. Interxion is a multinational company with 61,000 m2 of technical space distributed across 34 facilities in 11 European countries. Its 18 neutral points allow for connection to 400 different carriers.

Gigas’ Miami installation is housed in Verizon Terremark’s flagship facility, the “NAP of the Americas,” one of the most significant telecommunications projects in the world. The hub is the first purpose-built, carrier-neutral Network Access Point and is the only facility of its kind specifically designed to link Latin America with the rest of the world, facilitating about 90% of all Internet traffic going in and out of the region. It has 70,000m2 of technical space and is one of the largest data centres in the world. It holds Tier IV classification, the highest possible industry certification.
