Gideon Hixon

Gideon Cooley Hixon (March 28, 1826 – September 23, 1892) was a Wisconsin politician and businessman.

Born in Roxbury, Vermont, he moved with his family to Massachusetts. In 1858 he went to La Crosse, Wisconsin and was in the lumber business. He served on the La Crosse Common Council. Hixon also served on the board of education and was president of board of education. Hixon served in the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1871 and 1872 and then the Wisconsin State Senate in 1873 and 1874. Hixon was a Republican. His house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
