Gilbert "Gil" Hatton (born 31 July 1956 in Alburtis, Pennsylvania), also known as Gibby Hatton, is a former American track cyclist and today trainer. 1976 and 1977 Gibby Hatton was American vice - champion in the sprint. He finished as third in the Keirin at the UCI Track World Championships 1983 in Zurich. Hatton was the first US - American who was invited to the " International Keirin Series " to Japan . He started there in the years 1984 to 1991.

Since the end of his own career in 1992 is Hatton also worked as coach ; he supervised , among other Marty Nothstein, a multiple world champion, the US Americans Jessica Grieco, Rebecca Quinn, Amber Holt and the South African driver Jean - Pierre van Zyl .
