A ghost cell is an enlarged eosinophilic epithelial cell with eosinophilic cytoplasm but without a nucleus.

They are found in:

  • Craniopharyngioma (Rathke pouch)
  • Odontoma
  • Ameloblastic fibroma
  • Calcifying odontogenic cyst (Gorlin cyst)
  • pilomatricoma
