Ghent /ˈdʒɛnt/ is a census-designated place (CDP) in Raleigh County in the U.S. state of West Virginia. As of the 2010 census, its population was 457.

History
The community's name commemorates the Treaty of Ghent. On January 30, 2007, the Flat Top Little General Store (a local convenience store) on U.S. Route 19 exploded, killing four people and injuring several others, near the Winterplace Ski Resort.
Climate
The climate in this area has mild differences between highs and lows, and there is adequate rainfall year round. According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, Ghent has a marine west coast climate, abbreviated "Cfb" on climate maps.
