Gershom Durgin House

Location

391 Franklin Hwy., Andover, New Hampshire

The Gershom Durgin House is a historic house at 391 Franklin Highway in Andover, New Hampshire. The 1.5 story wood frame Cape style house was built c. 1815 by Gershom Durgin, a local clockmaker. It is a well-preserved example of the style, and is notable locally as an example of a double house: it is two rooms deep, and has two chimneys separated by a central hallway. The front door is only ornamented with a 4-light transom window; the interior of the house has retained significant Federal period styling.

The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.
