George Rowe is a Scottish professional footballer who played for Clydebank, Arbroath, Queen of the South and Stirling Albion. His position was Central Defence.

Clydebank
George Rowe began his senior career when he left Kilpatrick Juniors to join Clydebank for whom he made 91 league appearances between 1989 and 1992.
Queen of the South
In 1992 Rowe joined Dumfries club, Queen of the South with whom he spent the longest part of his career. He was there until 2000 in which he ended as player joint manager with Ken Eadie. With Norman Blount getting the wheels moving on the QoS revival, Rowe played alongside Tommy Bryce, Jim Thomson and Andy Aitken when Queens made it to the 1997–98 Scottish Challenge Cup final. Queens went down by the only goal despite a battling performance against opposition from a division above, Falkirk. Derek Townsley also played as did the young Jamie McAllister with a late substitute appearance.
Rowe made 184 league appearances with the Palmerston Park club in which he scored 17 goals.
Arbroath
Rowe played two seasons for Arbroath making 64 league appearances in which he scored nine goals.
Stirling Albion
In 2002 Rowe joined Stirling Albion and was there three seasons before retiring through injury.
