Major-General Sir George Pemberton Ross Norton KCVO CBE is a British Army officer.

Military career

Norton was commissioned into the Grenadier Guards in 1984. He was appointed Secretary of the Chiefs of Staff Committee in 2005 before being deployed to Afghanistan in early 2007 and being appointed CBE for his services there. He went on to be Commander of 38th (Irish) Brigade in Northern Ireland in June 2007 and Commander of British troops there in January 2009 before being made Deputy Regional Commander in Helmand Province in early 2010 and General Officer Commanding London District and Major-General commanding the Household Division in June 2011. He was appointed KCVO on 25 June 2013 following an audience of The Queen. He became Deputy Commander NATO Rapid Deployment Corps in Naples in July 2013.
