Captain George Darvel Hill is a New Zealand agronomist, naval reservist, justice of the peace and unionist.
After graduating from the University of Western Australia, Hill spent some time in Papua New Guinea, before moving to Lincoln University outside Christchurch, New Zealand, where spent forty years as a teaching and research agronomist.
He was active in the naval reserves for more than 30 years, being the first reservist raised to the rank of captain in 25 years.
He was a committee member of the AUS and later the Tertiary Education Union for 28 years, rising to national president and earning a Meritorious Service Award.
He was a long-serving member of the Council of the Agronomy Society of New Zealand.
