George Elliot Secondary is a public high school in Lake Country, British Columbia part of School District 23 Central Okanagan. In the 2006-07 year there were 772 students. The school was founded in 1960. The school has a store called "The Coyote's Den", named after the school's mascot. The school is also one of very few schools in BC that has a class devoted strictly to game design.
George Elliot Secondary is one of the few schools that have grade 8 to 12s attending, as the amount of students in Lake Country is not sufficient to create a middle school. Recently, however, the number of Grade 7s in the area has risen dramatically. This along with full day kindergarten being started in 2011, will cause the three elementary schools, Davidson Road Elementary School, Peter Greer Elementary, and Oyama Traditional School to have less classroom space.
Starting in September 2014, Grade 7s will attend George Elliot, to create what the district calls "a middle school within a high school". This will allow the full day kindergarten children to have more room.
