George Harris


George Edward Harris (born 1964) is a United Kingdom based art photographer / artist / spoken word poet who deals with spaces and journeys in his photography, political and abstract observation poetry and abstract real painting. Shown through exhibitions, group and solo and the web. Founder member of the NO PARKING Collective of artists in 2007 using empty shop spaces to create works and put on exhibitions as a collective of around 15 people. This group has not officially disbanded so it is open to working again at no given time or space. George is currently using Spoken Word Poetry within an experimental music collective called Brother G and the Trouble with Alison O'Melia creating improvised soundscapes and music with spoken word and sometimes with the help from other musicians including Walt Shaw, Lorin Halsal, Mitzy Valentine and Agata Liswoska. Recent works have included a piece called 'in the dot dot dot' which was also the title to an 2014 exhibition of painting, photography and video by George and Alison that took place at Artsmith in Derby.
