George Allan (1885 – 17 March 1916) was a Scottish professional football half back who played in the Scottish League for Partick Thistle and Ayr United.

Personal life

Allan served as a second lieutenant during the First World War. He was killed in a training accident in Winchester on 17 March 1916, when "one of a party receiving instruction in firing trench bombs from a spring gun. He apparently thought that the fuse had failed to ignite and leaned over to make sure, when the bomb carrier flew up, striking him in the face and causing shocking injuries, as a result of which he died in ten minutes".
