Gelechia muscosella, the grey sallow groundling, is a moth of the Gelechiidae family. It is widely distributed in Europe (except the Mediterranean region). Outside of Europe, it is found in the Caucasus, Siberia and the Russian Far East. The habitat consists of damp fenlands and shingle beaches.

The wingspan is 14–18 mm. Adults are on wing from mid-June to early September.

The larvae feed on Salix and Populus species. They feed in the catkins of their host plant.
