Gateway Academy (formerly Gateway Primary School) is a coeducational primary school with academy status, located in Lisson Grove area of Westminster, London, England. It is a large school which promotes a positive approach to the development of bilingualism. Children who are learning English as a second language have access to a full curriculum and are encouraged to use their home languages as well as becoming fully competent in English.

Infant classes
In infant classes there is a continuation and development of these activities linked to the teaching of reading, writing and mathematics - the skills that each child needs to progress satisfactorily through the school. Practical and recorded mathematical work is introduced; children are encouraged to read and write in a variety of ways, and to find books a source of pleasure and information. Project work is undertaken and linked to other areas of the curriculum.
Junior classes
In the junior classes the skills the children have already developed are built on further through carefully planned schemes of work. Topics are linked into areas of the curriculum to allow the children to become involved in the material they are learning. Literacy is based around texts to encourage the children to build on their love of reading and enhance their writing skills.
