Gary Briggs is the lead singer/guitarist of English indie band The Strays and previously the UK band Haven.

It was announced in February 2008 that Briggs would be providing vocals for the supergroup Freebass featuring bassists Mani, Andy Rourke and Peter Hook.

He is currently working for a company running courses for musicians in Manchester.
