Ganga Sagar express is a normal mail/express type train operated by Indian Railways and connecting Kolkata with Jaynagar in Bihar state. It covers a distance of 624 Kilometers at an average speed of 43 Kmph, and is hauled by WAP4 Class Locomotives Between Sealdah Samastipur & Between Samastipur Jaynagar it's hauled by Wdm-3A/3D . It includes coaches of general, AC two tier, AC three tier, and sleeper class, but does not include a pantry car. All the car classes except general require reservations. The Tatkal scheme is available.

The train leaves Sealdah at 17:45 daily, arriving at Jaynagar at 08:40 on the following day, and leaves Jaynagar at 16:35 to arrive at Sealdah at 06:55 the following day.
