Gandzak (Armenian: Գանձակ; formerly Batikian, Batikyan) is a village in the Gegharkunik Province of Armenia. The village is located in Gegharkunik region, on the right coast of Gavar river, 3 km south-west from region center, with an average height of 1980 meters above sea level. The village was named Batikian for a time in honor of Batik Batikian (1892–1920), a Communist activist. There is a half-ruined basilica of S. Astvatsatsin of the 4th or 5th century and a domed S. Gevorg church of the 9th or 10th century. In ancient times it had a domed hall. In the 19th century, Armenian migrants from Western Armenia covered the destroyed roofs with the logs.
