Profiles

Gamenauts is an independent game development studio based in Silicon Valley and founded in September 2005 by Stanley Adrianus, formerly of Yahoo! Games. The company's tagline is "We explore new frontiers of fun".

One of their games has been criticized as copying the game mechanics of an older game. Gamenauts released Ninja Fishing in 2011, using the game mechanics in Radical Fishing by Vlambeer, before even giving the original creators a chance to publish their game first. Apart from the loss of income, this severely depressed the original creators who couldn't take legal action against Gamenauts because of loose copyright laws. In 2013 Vlambeer finally published Ridiculous Fishing, with the highest rated reviews of all year.

In 2012, the company announced a publishing initiative for indie Asian developers, signing up studios from South East Asia such as Kurechii Studio, Menara Games, Artlogic Games and Nerdook Productions to publish their mobile titles for the worldwide market.
