George Spence Melvin, known as G.S. Melvin (20 February 1886–2 December 1946) was a famous Scottish pantomime dame and comedian.

Melvin was born in Old Machar, Aberdeen, Scotland. He became famous for his song "I'm Happy When I'm Hiking"; in the 1930s this was adopted as the hikers' anthem. He drowned in the river Thames at Datchet in Buckinghamshire (now Berkshire) whilst appearing at the Drury Lane Theatre.
