French ship Tonnerre (1808)

Renamed

Quatorze Juillet (1795)

The Tonnerre was a Téméraire class 74-gun ship of the line of the French Navy.

Started in 1794, she remained under construction until 1808. Under captain de la Roncière, she joined the Rochefort squadron in February 1809.

At the Battle of the Basque Roads, she was beached on 12 April. Her crew then scuttle her by fire to avoid her capture.
